At Yoga on the Ridge we offer tailored individual programs for students wishing to develop a regular home practice (sadhana) or for those with specific goals or health conditions. Our Yoga for Life Personalised Coaching Program draws on 20 years of academic and practical experience to help you maximise the benefits of the practices for greater self-awareness, health, inner peace and spiritual awakening.

Meet Dr. Katherine Martin

BA, BSc (Hons), PhD, Dip. Yogic Sciences

I have always had a strong connection with nature and at university I studied various sciences to learn more about the secrets behind the structure and function of living organisms. I then went on to complete a PhD in plant physiology, during which I had a series of realisations about the nature of life and how everything is a divine embodiment of sacred geometry.

After a few life-changing events, I became interested in the relationship between the mental, emotional and physical bodies, and how yoga could address the root causes of illness. Over the next 20 years, I deepened my exploration of various eastern and western philosophies, esoteric teachings, yogic physiology and psychology, nutrition and supplementation, and other healing modalities including vibrational medicine (especially light and sound).

Years later I decided to formalise my intimate knowledge of yoga with a two-year Diploma in Yogic Studies, the most comprehensive teacher-training course on offer. I studied Japanese Buddhism in Japan and am also an initiate of Tibetan Buddhism. The wisdom and insight gained from these practices complement my teaching style.

Step 1 - Discovery Session

The first step in our Yoga for Life Personalised Coaching Program is a free online session to discuss your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs, and to determine if you are ready to commit to an intensive program of transformational change.

Step 2 - Full Health Assessment

The second session involves a comprehensive health and well-being assessment, preferably conducted in person if possible. The information from the first and second sessions is used to set goals and objectives for your 10 week personalised program.

By committing to a coaching program with me, you will learn how to integrate simple yet effective practices into your daily life to create lasting and positive change. The secret to a balanced life is inner balance, peace and harmony. Your health is your greatest asset!

Step 3 - Start Your Personalised Yoga Program

Now we get down to business and start working towards your goals through intensive one-on-one sessions. My scientific and intuitive understanding of the body-mind-spirit complex allows me to draw on and synthesise the most appropriate practices and techniques to optimise your health and well-being. 

Over the course of the program, I help you to deepen your self-awareness and support you in working towards an integrated health goal. In the last session, we evaluate and review your progress and any improvements in health and well-being.

  • Subsequent packages are available in blocks of 5 classes and will continue to build on your personalised program and goals, adjusting as required. Packages may be conducted in person or online (in person preferred if physically possible).
